Climate discourse in a Murakami-esque parallel universe
Globally, AI is accelerating energy demand and driving emissions upward. Yet our shrinking carbon budget requires us to reduce energy consumption. This paradox has spawned alternate narratives that justify delaying climate action—making the world feel increasingly surreal, like something out of Murakami’s 1Q84. In times like these, we find ourselves turning more frequently to Nate Hagen’s The Great Simplification.

Project Updates
1. Validation Visit for Regenerating Rajasthan Project (VM0047)
Our project sites in Rajasthan hosted a validation visit by Carbon Check (India), the appointed Validation & Verification Body (VVB). This marked a significant milestone in the validation process for the Regenerating Rajasthan Project under the VM0047 methodology.
We also entered into a MoU with the state government of Rajasthan to bring environmental and social benefits to the state through carbon financing.

2. Launch of a new Restoration project in Tamil Nadu
We’re excited to announce a new forest restoration project near Hosur, where we’ll be reintroducing native species across a 50-hectare site following the removal of invasive Lantana camara. The goal is to restore the native dry deciduous forest ecosystem. More details on this project in upcoming newsletters!
3. Monsoon Planting at Amrit Mahal Community Forest, Karnataka
The arrival of the July monsoon created ideal conditions for our replanting drive at Amrit Mahal Community Forest, Chitradurga. Plantation activities spanned multiple zones, with favourable soil moisture enabling continuous operations throughout the period. Strong participation from local workers delivered excellent planting outcomes, reinforcing the project’s ecological restoration goals, community partnership and building momentum for the season ahead.
4. Planting Activity in Uttarakhand
As part of our ongoing Community Plantation Drive in Bansagad Khadar, Bhitarwali Panchayat (Dehradun), we conducted a gap-filling activity. Missing and damaged saplings were replaced to improve survival rates and strengthen the initiative’s long-term impact, with active community participation ensuring collective stewardship of the landscape.
